TRIPPING
Imagine
Touching freedom
Then one day, having to let it go.
Everything turns upside down And the only option is to return.
It all feels predetermined,
Like a force pulling you home
To a place where a future is hard to be found.
Tripping- a personal choreographic narrative on migration, resilience, and a fragile line between dreams and reality.
Tripping is based on a true story. A young woman arrives in Finland to pursue her education, full of hope and determination. But what starts as a dream turns into a struggle of survival. She invests everything in her future, only to find herself caught in the complexities of migration and exclusion. When she was forced to leave Finland, Marjan Raar made her a promise: I will make a choreography for you – about you.
Tripping welcomes the audience on a journey to a world where the line between dreams and reality begins to blur. A solo performance and a last-minute ticket to a hideaway place, created in a small corner of a parking garage.
Through dance, music and video projections on the wall, this everyday, transitional environment is transformed into a place of reflection and togetherness. It becomes a place where people can take a break and experience something beyond the ordinary.

Coming up in November 2025 : “R.I.F”
In a space where borders are drawn and redrawn, where every step feels like an unfinished task, we find ourselves rerouting—again and again.
A body in motion, searching for its place, sometimes feeling unfitting, sometimes held back by restrictions. Yet, in between, there is movement, breath, and a quiet push toward freedom.
R.I.F explores the balance between limitation and possibility—a concept of movement, adaptation, discovery and a dance about Restrictions, Isolation & Freedom.
